Cathy Myhill’s paintings are inspired by the landscape with its ever-changing weather patterns and quality of light, plus her love for Art Nouveau and her Celtic heritage. Cathy studied at the Bourneville School of Art and the College of Education in Birmingham, working in art education and visual resources before moving to Skye in 1980 to become a full-time artist. Cathy also owns and runs Dandelion Gallery in Stein.
“I strive to capture the spirit of a place, my own connection to my environment and Celtic roots. I use a variety of techniques in watercolour and mixed media, working on paper, board, canvas or wood. Painting is an ever-changing adventure, I am constantly excited and surprised by discoveries during sessions of experimentation while trying out new ideas and materials.”
